Join us for an evening of holiday cheer at Twinkle Light Night on December 5th from 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM! We’re looking for dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to help bring the season's magic to life. Volunteers will play a vital role in creating a memorable experience for families attending this festive event.

Volunteer Roles & ResponsibilitiesSanta’s Helpers: Assist families and children with taking photos with Santa, managing the line, and spreading holiday cheer.Cookie Decorating Station Attendants: Help kids decorate cookies by distributing supplies, assisting with decorating, and keeping the area tidy.Craft Station Assistants: Guide children through holiday crafts, keeping supplies organized, and assisting as needed to create memorable keepsakes.Dance Party Enthusiasts: Energize the Jingle Bell dance party by helping coordinate the music, leading dances, and encouraging participation.Greeters and Ticket Scanners: Welcome guests at the entrance, check tickets, and direct families to event activities.The Grinch’s Crew: Assist with our special Grinch visitor, keeping things playful and festive and helping manage crowd flow.Cleanup Crew: Help tidy up craft and activity stations during and after the event to ensure a smooth experience for all guests.Volunteer RequirementsAge: Volunteers must be 16 or older. Family volunteers with younger helpers may be considered if supervised.Time Commitment: Volunteers should arrive by 5:00 PM for orientation and stay until 8:30 PM to assist with cleanup.Attire: Volunteers are encouraged to wear holiday-themed clothing/PJs or festive attire (Santa hats, elf costumes, etc.) to add to the spirit of the evening.ParkingVolunteers are encouraged to park in the Vermilion Parking Tower located 121 E Vermilion St, Lafayette, LA 70501, or in any available street parking. We ask that volunteers DO NOT park in our guest parking lot, so that we can save those spots for families attending the event.CMA phone lines don't turn on until 10 am. Keep areas tidy; dispose of trash in designated spots.This is a rain or shine event, as all activities will be indoors.Report spills or safety concerns immediately to staff.

Are you ready to ring in the New Year while making a difference? The Children’s Museum of Acadiana invites passionate, energetic volunteers to help us create a magical and memorable New Year’s celebration for our youngest guests!

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

Activity Hosts: Assist children and families with fun carnival games, crafts, and activities. Create an exciting environment by engaging with visitors and distributing prizes.

Event Set-Up and Decoration: Help prepare the museum for the big event by setting up stations, decorating exhibit spaces, and creating a festive atmosphere for all.

Confetti Crew: Join the countdown excitement by prepping and coordinating the confetti celebration at "New Year's Noon." This team helps create the magical confetti blast that will make the moment unforgettable.

Greeters and Ticket Scanners: Welcome families, scan tickets, and provide information on event activities to ensure everyone gets the most out of their experience.

Exhibit Guides: Assist visitors in exploring our 12+ interactive exhibits, helping children engage in hands-on learning activities.

Clean-Up Crew: Assist in post-event cleanup to ensure the museum is ready for the new year!

Are you passionate about inspiring young minds through play? As a Volunteer Play Facilitator at the Children’s Museum of Acadiana, you’ll help create a fun, engaging, and educational experience for children and families.

Responsibilities:Engage with children and caregivers in museum exhibits, encouraging interactive play and exploration.Facilitate hands-on activities, arts and crafts, and STEAM-based learning experiences.Assist with museum programs, special events, and themed activities.Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all visitors.Provide friendly customer service and answer basic visitor questions.Qualifications:Enjoy working with children and families in a playful, hands-on environment.Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.Ability to follow museum policies and assist with program facilitation.MUST BE YOUNGER THAN 18 YEARS OLD OR A BACKGROUND CHECK IS NEEDED.Benefits of Volunteering:Gain valuable experience working in an educational and interactive museum setting.Be a part of a team that makes a difference in the lives of children.Earn community service hours.Have fun while helping to create meaningful learning experiences!
