United Way of Acadiana is seeking volunteers to help assemble Resources for Developing Minds (RFDM) bags for distribution to local hospitals.
In partnership with Ochsner Lafayette General, Our Lady of Lourdes, and community stakeholders, this initiative supports early brain development by providing every new mom with essential tools and information when their baby is born.
Why It Matters: The first five years of life are critical for a child’s development. By helping assemble these resource bags, you’re directly contributing to healthier futures for families across Acadiana. Each bag contains age-appropriate materials that support bonding, language development, and early learning—empowering parents to be their child’s first and most important teacher.
What You’ll Be Doing: Organizing and packing educational materials Preparing bags for delivery to hospitals Supporting a community-wide effort to give every child a strong start.
Let’s work together to build brighter futures from day one.
