Who We Are

Hospice of Acadiana is the only nonprofit hospice in Acadiana, providing compassionate end-of-life care and comprehensive support services to terminal patients and their families. Hospice of Acadiana is committed to ensuring anyone medically eligible will receive quality hospice care, regardless of their ability to pay. Through Hospice of Acadiana's Center for Loss & Transition, free bereavement services are available to anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one - even if your loved one was a patient of another hospice provider, or was not a hospice patient at all. The only requirement for service is being a resident of our 9-parish service area: Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion.

What We Do

Hospice of Acadiana treats the whole person on their end-of-life journey: the physical, emotional, social, and financial. Our hospice care team, comprised of Physicians, Nurses, Certified Nursing Aids, Social Workers, Chaplains and Counselors is their to support each patient's end-of-life goals, offering support where and when needed. The Center for Loss & Transition staff includes nationally certified bereavement counselors who specialize in grief therapy. The Center offers comprehensive services, including: individual counseling support groups labyrinth walks and workshops workshops on loss and transition Our bereavement staff seeks to keep in touch with family members for at least 13 months.
