United Way of Acadiana will be partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank and UL Lafayette to host our sixth mass food distribution at Cajun Field. Thus far, we have served 400,000 pounds of food to the people of Acadiana. Distributions have been incredibly successful due to the hard work of volunteers that commit to serving others in this time of need. We are once again asking you to serve your community.
Please register as a team only if you and others from your organization, business, or club group are volunteering together.
Instructions:
- Volunteer shifts are as follows: Shift #1 begins at 9:45 am and ends at 11:45 am; Shift #2 begins at 11:30 am and finishes around 1:30 pm.
- Volunteers will enter through Gate 2 of Cajun Field, which is off of Bertrand Drive, across from Agave Mexican Grill and Cantina.
- Recipients will enter through Gate 3 off of West Congress Street.
- Please arrive in time to locate parking, check-in, receive directions, and be in position.
- Check-in will take place under a tent in the lot which we park. There, you will be given a Live United volunteer t-shirt and provided personal protective gear including a mask and gloves (latex-free gloves are available).
- It is mandatory that volunteers wear their volunteer t-shirt throughout the duration of the service. United Way of Acadiana staff will be wearing black Live United t-shirts.
- Remember to wear sunscreen, a hat, and bring water to stay hydrated. We strongly advise bringing a flask with water.
We hope you'll join us as we help our community one box of food at a time.
