Join Parish Proud and Lafayette Consolidated Government for an afternoon of giving our trees a little extra love and care! Volunteers to meet at 1pm that afternoon and will be assigned certain trees to spread mulch over. Volunteers may signup as teams or individuals.
Why mulching? Because adding mulch to surround a tree provides shade and cools the soil closest to the tree, it also adds nutrients to the soil and helps keep our trees healthy! Volunteers are encouraged to wear appropriate attire, including closed-toed shoes, long pants and a hat to shield themselves from the sun.

Time: 1pm - 4pm
If you have hand cultivators/garden forks for weeding grass around trees, please bring!
