The Vermilion Parish Early Childhood Network strives to provide the children of Vermilion Parish, ages birth to 5 years old, with a solid foundation of care and education. Through numerous resources, we aim to prepare them for life. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to assist in assembling and transporting 350 educational resource kits for new parents in our community.
Responsibilities:
- Assembling Kits: Gather and assemble various educational materials and resources into kits for new parents.
- Quality Check: Ensure all items are included in each kit and meet our quality standards.
- Labeling and Packing: Label and pack the kits efficiently for easy distribution.
- Transporting Kits: Assist in transporting the assembled kits to designated locations within the community.
- Inventory Management: Help keep track of inventory and update records as needed.
- Setup and Cleanup: Assist with setting up the assembly area at the beginning of the shift and cleaning up at the end.
Requirements:
- Age: Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers under 18 must have parental consent.
- Skills: No prior experience necessary, but attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions are important.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 20 lbs. A valid driver's license and ability to drive are required for transporting kits.
- Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff.
