The Habitat ReStore on Evangeline Thruway is a 27,000 sq. ft. home improvement retail outlet and an important part of the Habitat Lafayette ministry. New and gently used building materials, cabinets, appliances, furniture, lighting and accessories are donated by local individuals and businesses. The items are then sold to the public at reduced prices. Items that would typically end up in a landfill are given a second chance!
ReStore volunteers carry out tasks such as unloading trucks, processing donations, moving items onto the sales floor, pricing items, stocking items, cleaning, organizing, and providing customer service. The ReStore is a busy operation and we need your help! When you donate your time to the ReStore, you still help build houses; all proceeds from the store go back to Lafayette Habitat to build and renovate affordable housing for homeownership!
Please note that all volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes to serve. (Also, no short shorts or inappropriate messages on clothing.)
**Minimum age to volunteer is 16. We will need a signed hard copy of our parent waiver for all 16- and 17-year olds as well.**
All volunteers MUST sign up through our website to reserve a spot in our volunteer shifts. Address for the construction site shift will be given after signing up.
